Chethan was the Project Manager responsible for managing the Digital Transformation journey of the Aircraft Maintenance business unit, spanning the line maintenance operations of 150+ aircraft and multiple maintenance repair organisations. Chethan was responsible shaping the Digital Blueprint, preparing the business case for the projects and end to end project delivery of the digital initiatives.
Chethan led a team comprising product owner, subject matter experts, business process analysts and change analysts in support of the delivery of the Crew Management Programme (CMP). CMP is a multi-year business transformation with a budget of circa 20 million USD, introducing state-of-the art systems, streamlined processes and new ways of working that are modernising and strengthening Cathay's Crew Management operations. As a Delivery PM, Chethan was responsible for the successful implementation of crew planning optimisation systems, using an Agile approach. He managed the day-to-day project management responsibilities and worked closely with vendors and change leads, to ensure the product delivery and that the change activities were executed effectively and efficiently
Chethan was the Project Manager responsible for the implementation of crew planning optimisation systems. He filled the role of dedicated product owner to drive the product development working with end users, subject matter experts from the BU and the vendor. This led to an on time and to budget implementation. Chethan had a strong influence on flight crew engagement and acceptance involving 3500+ crew. He handled the many strong personalities well and turned what could have been a forum of resistance and industrial difficulty into an example of healthy collaboration with union representatives. He also catalysed new ways of working, supporting the development of a Target Operating Model, and recruitment of external expertise to the teams. Chethan was instrumental in the evaluation, followed by a successful implementation of the crew fatigue management system.
