Ph.D. civil engineer, with more than 20 years of experience, most of them in the port sector, and I still want to keep on learning. I have been fortunate to share my work with great professionals who have taught me, both technically and humanly, and helped me to become who I am today. Focused on results, passionate about change of organizations, transforming ideas into tangible realities.
Instructor in UNCTAD's TrainForTrade Port Management Programme, the UN agency's flagship capacity-building initiative for port communities in developing countries. Within the Spanish-speaking network, I contribute to the Modern Port Management Course — a 240-hour, eight-module program covering international trade and transport, port organization and operations, economic, commercial, legal and technical management, and the future challenges facing ports. I share the applied experience of leading the Port Authority of Cartagena — including strategic planning, governance, energy transition and smart-port development — with port professionals from Latin America and other regions, supporting UNCTAD's mission of more efficient, competitive and sustainable port management.
Faculty member of the Master's Degree in Port Management, Planning and Intermodality (MG2PI), an inter-university program run by the University of A Coruña, University of Cádiz, University of Oviedo and the Technical University of Madrid, in collaboration with Puertos del Estado (Spanish State Ports). I bring to the classroom the perspective of leading a Spanish Port Authority — covering strategic planning, port governance, the energy transition and smart-port development — bridging the real-world management of the Spanish port system with the training of the next generation of logistics and port professionals.
Instructor in specialized port-sector training programs — including "Port Sector and Strategy" — aimed at professionals and candidates for Spain's Port Authorities, within the competency framework defined by Puertos del Estado.
