I am a new graduate nurse from University of the Pacific, Sacramento. My experience as both a high level athlete and sibling to a brother with special needs helped me value teamwork and the importance of understanding different points of views and diversity. I thrive in fast paced and busy environments. -Complete primary assessment clinical evaluation to create clients' individual treatment and care plans. -Work closely with the treating psychiatrist at interdisciplinary team meetings and facilitate all client case management needs such as interfacing with outpatient or community resources (SSI, food stamps, etc). -Submit outpatient requests to link clients to Sacramento County mental health resources -Write legal holds, firearms submissions, conservatorship paperwork, REISE paperwork, and daily documentation on clients. -Primary discharge planner, interface with shelters and treatment programs in Sacramento County to ensure a safe and efficient discharge.
Responsible for overlook of clients in the Acute Psychiatric Health Facility. Encourage and assist with ADLs Skills include Pro-ACT Restraint Training, WRAP Training, and DBT Training.
Under the guidance of my preceptor, I independently • Performed comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and monitored telemetry. • Monitored for hemodynamic changes and anticipated early signs of decompensation. • Comprehensive and accurate charting for all assigned patients in the Epic EMR. • Medication administration, including via NG/OG, central lines, and Swan Ganz. • Initiated CPR during code blue events and supported with ACLS interventions. • Conducted NIHSS and completed neurological checks as indicated. • Applied critical thinking to titrate high risk IV drips based on patient condition, hemodynamics, labs, and provider orders. • Collaborated with RNs, intensivists, respiratory therapist, house supervisor, and pharmacists in codes and rounding. • Provided family-centered care, including emotional support during critical events. • Gave shift report to oncoming nurse. • Collaborated with respiratory therapist for ventilation weaning/extubating readiness. • Assisted the nursing team with new admissions and patient care when needed.
Provide direct support and serve as professional caregivers to adults with developmental disabilities living in a 12-member adult residential facility. Job responsibilities include filling, checking, and administering medication during specialized medication passes, assisting residents with daily hygiene, supporting them in their individual skill development, understanding and facilitating the goals of each individual (as defined in their Individual Program Plan), providing companionship, maintaining records and detailed daily notes of resident observations, reinforcing strategies for individuals to excel specific to each individual, and more.
Work on the floor of the UC Davis Med Center emergency room and conduct research for specific studies. Job responsibilities include searching EMR to identify patients that are eligible for such studies, approaching them and asking if they would like to participate, observing the consent process, communicating with attending regarding studies, education in the various studies.
Played field hockey for the NCAA Division 1 Field Hockey Team at UC Davis. Served as a member of the leadership team in 2019 and 2020 and was named a co-captain in 2020. Consisted of practice 20 hours per week in addition to games and college curriculum.
