To work closely as a team of optometrists, ophthalmologists, and receptionists to serve patients with utmost care and compassion. Tasked to do optometric, technical, and front desk duties. Optometric job includes finding out chief complaint to decide what tests need to be done for the ophthalmologists to provide diagnosis and treatment. Tests include refraction, refraction with fog, cyclorefraction, colour vision, stereopsis. Proficient in the usage of machines such as Optos, IOLMaster, Pentacam, OCT, Non-contact tonometer, Autorefraction, Focimeter, Fundus camera.
Given the opportunity to work with experienced optometrists to serve patients of various conditions. Ensured each patient’s conditions were accurately classified to each respective ophthalmologist’s specialty. Ensured accurate refraction and reliable eye scans for the ophthalmologist. Worked closely as a team of optometrists and ophthalmologists on projects such as large scale eye screening for soldiers going for overseas deployment exercises.
Worked as a team to ensure minimal waiting time and good customer service. Assisted to recommend the best lens and frames based on customers' needs, and learnt basic styling recommendation from a Japanese stylist colleague.
Given the opportunity to work with vision scientists and the responsibility to do multiple literature searches for future research topics. Showcased proficiency in microsoft excel by collating and managing data found into excel sheets, exporting data into graphs for professional usage for scientific articles suitable for publishing.
