I am a lecturer at the Department of International Relations, Universitas Indonesia. I teach courses on Strategic Studies and International Security. I earned my PhD from the Graduate School of International Relations, Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto Japan and was granted a scholarship by the Japanese Government (MEXT/Monbukagakusho). My dissertation discussed the politics of counterterrorism in Indonesia. Through my dissertation, I developed my own analytical framework to analyse the complex interactions of relevant counterterrorism agencies, which influence the outcome of counterterrorism policies in Indonesia. Prior to my PhD study, I had four years of working experience at a top-tier think tank in Southeast Asia - RSIS, NTU Singapore - and led research projects on deradicalisation programmes and civil-military relations in Indonesia. My research projects were primarily done based on intensive fieldwork, and I have published journal articles on both issues. The research projects were funded by and submitted to Singapore's Ministry of Defence.
