I’m interested in establishing a network which can support my future interests in beginning a career in policy. I am particular keen to connect with those working in and around cultural related sectors as this is a particular area of interest of mine.
I organised celebrations for the anniversary of the Death Penalty (abolition) bill. We are going to run a bake sell to raise money for the Death Penalty Project. Alongside this, I am conducting interviews with numerous KCs specialising in human rights law about the importance of the topic.
I have taken part in numerous phonebanking sessions for Lucy Powell's deputy leadership campaign - speaking to numerous members of the party.
I’ve cultivated a portfolio of interviews which covers the broad range of the political spectrum. These include : Michael Heseltine Neil Kinnock Alastair Campbell David Gauke Jess Phillips Vince Cable Melissa Benn Billy Bragg David Laws David Frost Graham Brady Jacob Rees-Mogg Fraser Nelson Lewis Goodall Gavin Williamson Ian Hislop
Over the past two years, I have been a part of the Fabian Society's Education and Culture policy networks. This has meant that I have taken part in policy roundtables and attended discussion groups with leading figures in each reterospective field. Regarding the arts and culture element, I have had a particular focus on increasing accessibility of museums and adjacent cultural institutions to young people.
As a member of the Fabian Society, I have proactively taken up roles in a broad range of policy networks. These include: finance network; culture network; education network; womens network; environment network and the young fabians. I have enjoyed attending discussions with leading Parliamentarians, academics and industry experts about these areas.
I completed a period of work experience in an MP's parliamentary office. I will be continuing this with an internship from October 2026. During this time, I worked on numerous elements of his office. This included: - Writing his newsletter read by thousands of his constituents - drafting press releases - planning social media posts - imputing data into excel - creating briefings for parliamentary sessions and meetings
I had the opportunity to shadow Jeremy Hunt in December 2024. I spent the time attending meetings with constituents, allowing for a developed understanding between elected representatives and their duties in their constituencies. I earned valuable experience regarding MP visits and the organisation of said meetings, particularly through developing briefings ahead of time.
