Beyond was a brand new gym opening in the up and coming area of Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi. I saw this as a great opportunity as well as a new challenge in a different Emirate which I felt I needed. I was responsible for: • Preparation of individual personal training targets, assist in the design and structure of sales and marketing plan for all personal training and group exercise activities. • Designing and promoting activities that will ensure high quality of service to the members and generate higher revenues. • Advertising and promoting the club to increase usage, which may include commissioning and market research. • Perform five (5) group exercise classes per week within area of expertise. • Presenting on a monthly basis to the management team a personal performance report for personal training and group exercise activities. This would include monthly schedule, hours conducted, performed and sessions canceled as well as a detailed personal financial income report for personal training and group exercise activities. • Source and co-ordinate with local sports suppliers for event sponsorship and present monthly inventory for sports promotional materials
I made the decision to go freelance as this provided me with a greater financial incentive after building an extensive client base.
• Initial responsibility was to sell memberships during the ‘pre-sale’ period before the gym opened. • Once open, I was responsible for building up a respectable client base and to provide detailed professional advice on all aspects of Fitness and ‘well-being’. • Quickly built up a strong client base of over 30 people. Conducting over 130hours of Personal Training and selling an average USD 7,000 of Personal Training monthly. • Conducted Circuit and Boxercise classes on a weekly basis. • Implemented the Lay-out of the gym equipment prior to the gym opening.
• Conducted 6 Spin classes weekly • Provided members detailed fitness programmes tailor made to their needs as well as necessary nutritional advice. • Affiliation with BUPA, which required me to conduct daily medicals with new and existing members.
