· Perform construction observation on IDOT and ILAW projects. Tasks include quantity documentation, QA/QC, as-built surveying, and coordinating with the project team from pre-construction to closeout. · Create and draft plans for pump stations, sewer rehabilitation, water main replacements, and broadband fiber projects using Civil3D while adhering to the applicable standards set forth by cities/agencies. · Conduct sanitary sewer dye-tests and manhole inspections.
· Worked alongside an equipment operator to perform cone penetrometer testing (CPT) and sampling. · Assisted with field work such as borehole staking, soil logging, and geophysical testing (seismic and ERT). · Assisted project engineers with preliminary results and job proposal write ups. · Performed soil laboratory testing and classification including moisture content and UCS.
· Prepared site improvement plans in a timely manner using AutoCAD for all project phases, including preliminary, permitting, bidding, and construction. · Responsible for the design of site grading, utility, hydraulics, and parking lot layout while adhering to applicable codes, ordinances, and national standards. · Coordinated project design with principal engineers, consulting engineers, architects, contractors, and governing agencies including MSD.
