I am a fully qualified Specialist Biomedical Scientist in Clinical Biochemistry. I am currently training to be a Clinical Scientist whilst completing a masters degree in Clinical Biochemistry at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and have over 7 years of laboratory experience.
I am working within the Endocrine Laboratory as a Biomedical Scientist. I am able to run the HbA1c monitoring service, Tumour Marker Service and I am also currently working towards competencies In LC-MS analysis.
I ran the floor working with other supervisors and managers in order to maintain a professional, efficient work environment. My roles included: distribution of tasks amongst staff, running of tills, stock maintenance, working delivery, customer service (exchanges and refunds), cashing up of tills, stock recovery, serving on tills and dealing with customer queries both in person and on the external phone line.
I worked as a retail operative in womenswear my job roles included working delivery of stock, recovering the store to keep it tidy and in a good condition to be shopped, maximising sales by merchandising stands, filling stock, serving customers on tills and aiding managers with paperwork.
I volunteered in Addenbrookes trauma and orthopaedic unit as a ward volunteer. This allowed me to spend time with patients to gain insight in to the more human aspect of the role.
Worked in Millets Outdoor Clothing Shop whilst studying for my A levels. I helped with delivery, sales, serving on tills, selling footwear, cashing up tills and online in store sales/ orders.
I had a days work experience in the ENT clinic at Newark hospital, experiencing the treatment of outpatients and witnessing the tests that occur on a daily basis. I also shadowed a bowel cancer specialist whilst she met with patients and discussed their cancer treatment pathway.
