• Oversee and implement all aspects of the University Student Employment Program collaborating closely with the offices of Human Resources and Financial Aid. • Identify and implement creative strategies and pilot programs to help ensure the University meets the Federal Work-Study Program requirements for student employment. • Cultivate student employment job opportunities and integrate into the Handshake career platform. Plan and facilitate the On-Campus Student Employment Fair. • Track and report on all student employees and prepare semester and annual reports on student employment. • Develops and leads mandatory student orientation training to disseminate important information for first-time employees. • Develops and leads regular training sessions and workshops for student employees, hiring managers, and other staff/faculty, identifying training needs for business units and individual coaching needs related to student employment. • Career Advise/counsels all students, one-to-one and in group career direction workshops, with an emphasis on undergraduate programs.
Provides comprehensive career planning services to students using effective communication techniques with various modes of technology, to encourage and guide students to define and develop realistic goals Develops, updates, and implements career development activities that support programs in exposing students to opportunities in their career field, including focusing on career, continuing education, and certification. Engages students in career planning assessments, and assists students in developing a career plan, provides mock interview support and training to build a resume, complete an application for employment, and search for a job and interview; connects students with appropriate internship, externship, or job shadowing opportunities
Emory University Career Center Supporting the Executive Director of the career center providing pre-strategic planning benchmarking assessment. The scope of work: • Assessment of Career Center market resources • Assessment of impactful initiatives and programs to enhance the professional development of Emory students • Assessing needs, staffing models to apply to new staff growth • Assessment of DEIB+ initiatives among peer institutions to align with the current Emory mission • Assessment of communication/outreach methods and tactics with high impact to resonate with the current student body
Supports student learning through a comprehensive career services program encompassing the following areas: employer development, career advising, job search assistance (resume writing, cover letter writing, interviewing skills, identifying job leads, using the internet and social media, etc.), networking, and other areas related to career success. • Direct strategies and initiatives to build and support career services and provide career opportunities in public, non-profit and business sectors to undergraduate, graduate students, and alumni. • Work closely with Academic programs, Alumni Office, Advancement office, faculty, and campus administrators, the Dean’s Office and key external stakeholder groups to expand and maintain an employer recruitment network and to develop and sustain a continuum of employment opportunities for the university community. • Evaluate the fiscal needs of Career Services; prepare, manage, and administer the operational budget, as well as the special program budgets; identify needs and work across the University to fund important career-related initiatives. • Evaluate and fully implement technologies that provide innovative software programs for students, employers, and alumni to increase career development and employment opportunities.
Oversees the designing, coordination, implementation, and participation in student/alumni career services events, provides multi-campus level management for the daily operations, fiscal planning, staff development, and delivery of student-centered, comprehensive career services.
