I graduated Eastern Michigan University with a BBA. I was recruited by Guardian Industries Corporation where I had a 32 year career with three different Guardian owned or controlled companies all in the position of Vice President & Chief Financial Officer . All three were engaged in manufacturing. One of the companies was a public company listed on NASDAQ. The experience was diverse, and included consumer products, aviation and aerospace, and Tier One Automotive supply. During my twelve years with Guardian Automotive as VP & CFO I held a dual role as Director of Operations for the Guardian Automotive Aftermarket group, a large provider of automotive glass products/services, and automotive accessories. My experience includes financial forecasting, business acquisitions & dissolutions, valuations, financings, SEC reporting, government contracting, Activity Based Costing, intellectual property management, and much more. After retiring in 2010 I began using my CFO skills and business experience to assist other companies, primarily start-ups, in immerging technology,

I was the VP & CFO of the Guardian Automotive, a Tier One supplier of OE automotive glass, and exterior metal, and plastic body parts. In this role I oversaw all financial personnel in the Guardian manufacturing operations, and was responsible for company wide I/T. In addition to the CFO position I was the managing Director of Guardian Automotive Products, a distributor and services provider of automotive glass replacement parts, and a distributor and internet seller of automotive, RV and truck accessories.
OIS was a public company listed on the NASDAQ primarily engaged in the research, development and manufacture of hi-tech flat panel displays and image sensors. In November of 1991 Guardian made an investment in OIS and took control of the board of directors of company. Responsibilities included all financial/accounting and treasury functions including all matters of SEC and NASDAQ compliance, capital expenditure planning, 401k and deferred compensation administration, management information systems, human resources, purchasing and contracts, material control, shipping and receiving, legal including intellectual property strategy, and building maintenance. Chief spokesperson to the press. Later at the direction of the Board of Directors assumed the position of Chief Operating Officer in addition to other responsibilities.
Guardian Photo was a national processor of film, and photographs. Prior to the digital age this was the dominate imaging technology. Guardian operated twelve plants around the country and was one of the largest processors. I was recruited for an accounting position by Guardian Industries prior to graduation from Eastern Michigan University early in 1978. I was placed in the Photo group and held several positions including Plant Controller of a manufacturing facility, Eastern Regional Controller of three factories, and ultimately became the CFO in 1981. Guardian Photo was sold to a division of Eastman Kodak in 1991. I was involved in the facilitation of this transaction.
