Represented the organization at ISU’s Fall Club Fair, engaging students and faculty to increase club visibility and membership. Collaborated with leadership to plan and coordinate events, maintain schedules, and complete required university paperwork to ensure compliance with ISU policies and alignment with club objectives. Actively engaged in club events, leading by example in sportsmanship, respectful dialogue, and encouragement to create a welcoming environment consistent with club values.
Developed a maintenance procedure for the NE department’s Bambu Labs X-1 Carbon Printer to optimize efficiency and increase machine lifetime. Modelled, sliced, and printed a plastic area monitor holder to replace previous cardboard and tape holders with a more durable and aesthetic design. Applied previous knowledge of FlashForge Finder printer and FlashPrint software to quickly adapt to Bambu Studio, the X-1 Carbon printer, and the Modix BIG60 to begin making reliable prints after minimal training.
Accurately measured reactor components and fuel in a radiation containment area safely by practicing ALARA and properly donning and doffing PPE and following laboratory procedure. Utilized advanced features in SolidWorks to model fuel and components with advanced functions and user-imputed mass characteristics to aid in neutronics modelling. Conducted swipes on components and areas and analyzed them with a liquid scintillation counter to provide data on contamination, ensuring a safe and clean environment. Operated an Aegis portable HPGe and associated software to gather enrichment data from gamma count peaks. Collaborated with other interns to develop an abstract and paper for the 2026 ANS student conference. Attended and contributed to weekly meetings and responded to emails promptly for better team communication. Served as Certified Observer for the reassembly approach to critical, ensuring safe reactor operation and adherence to emergency shutdown procedures in the event of operator incapacitation. Recorded and analyzed data from BF₃ and B-10 neutron detectors in a 1/M spreadsheet to verify that criticality was approached safely and in compliance with excess reactivity regulations.
Conducted detailed modifications to enhance performance by integrating custom electronics and optimized components. Utilized 3D printing to design internal and external improvements to shells and components to increase performance and modularity. Applied knowledge of electrical circuits and mechanical assembly to troubleshoot, test, and ensure optimal functionality.
