I help insure that guests have a welcome shopping experience by facilitating an accurate inventory in all departments in the store. I make sure that inventory off the sales floor is appropriately logged in the computer system so the shelves stay full for guests.
While my title would indicate that i assist in stocking the merchandise, beginning in March of 2015 I was transitioned into a support role to the Inventory Controller of the Port Huron Menards. I assist the Inventory Controller by managing the out of stock inventory for the entire Hardware department. This involves making sure inventory is accurate, investigating losses and gains, and of course guest service.
The Inventory Control Specialist is primarily responsible for the timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, in addition to regular customer service and retail duties. Specific duties related to this position often involves lifting boxes of up to 50lbs and contacting other branch locations, or corporate individuals, to maximize service for our guests. Making sure that orders arrive in as timely a manner as possible is key, often entailing forward thinking by noticing and correcting potential issues in advance. Having worked for nearly a decade with this retailer I am intimately familiar with quality customer service and relations as well as proper stocking and merchandising of products. I was moved into the position of ICS in September 2014, an increase in position from my previous title as Sales Floor Leader.
