I am a Medical Laboratory Scientist in search for a full time or part time job. I had my Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. I Currently hold a license in the Philippines (2002), Kuwait (2009) and a certification from ASCPi (2008). I have more than 10 years of experience as a Medical Technologist. I started my career in the year 2004 in a tertiary hospital-based laboratory in the Philippines as a generalist, rotating in all the sections including Phlebotomy, Clinical microscopy, Blood Bank, Microbiology but was giving exceptional performance in Hematology and Clinical Chemistry sections for almost 5 years. I then moved to Kuwait in 2009 to work as a Medical laboratory technician ( The country’s equivalent to Medical technologist title) for 3 years in one of the most known free standing laboratories in the state, Covering all the sections in the laboratory including Phlebotomy, Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Clinical Microscopy and Endocrinology. I then moved to Inaya Medical Center Laboratory and worked with them for almost 11 years, rotating in Phlebotomy, Hematology, Clinical Chemistry and Endocrinology, and Clinical Microscopy.
Responsible in doing all the procedures in all the areas of the laboratory including: Phlebotomy- responsible with blood collection from all ages inside or outside the lab for home services provided by the laboratory in some special cases. Clinical Chemistry- Processing of all calibrations, controls and patients’ samples mostly for Smac 20 tests using Cobas Integra 400 machine Hematology- Performs all controls, daily maintenance and sample processing in Hematology section like CBC using Sysmex iX800i and other procedures for coagulation profile ( PT, PTT, Clotting time, Bleeding time) using manual methods Endocrinology- Performs all Calibrations, controls and sample processing for hormone tests using Elecsys 2010 and Elecsys 411 machines. Clinical Microscopy- Performs all routine procedures including urine analysis, stool analysis, occult blood, semen analysis. Serology- Performs other serological tests such as C- Reactive protein, Anti streptolysin-O, Rheumatoid Factor, and Rapid Plasma Reagin Microbiology – Performs bacteriology lab tests including culture and sensitivity and grams stain

Hematology, Clinical Microscopy, Clinical Chemistry, Bacteriology, Serology and Immunology sections: - Performs manual and machine (Sysmex KX-21, Sysmex XS for CBC) hematology exams such as Complete blood count (including manual differential count), reticulocyte count, peripheral blood morphology. - Performs coagulation tests like Prothrombin and partial thromboplastin times using Sysmex coag machine and Biomerieux’s Option. - Performs routine physical, chemical and microscopic examination of urine and other body fluids for clinical microscopy section. Performs rapid visual enzyme immunoassay for Beta- Human chorionic Gonadotropin. - Performs all routine and special chemical analyses of blood, urine cerebrospinal fluid and all other body fluids using Ortho Clinical Diagnostics Vitros 250 chemistry system, Kodak ektachem and Roche/ Hitachi 902 analyzers. - Performs immunological tests like Thyroid function tests (T3, T4, FT3, FT4, TSH3) Complete Hepatitis profile, Tumor markers (PSA, CEA, AFP, CA-12-5, CA15-3, CA 19-9), Metabolic tests (Glycosylated Hemoglobin) and Cardiac Markers (Troponins I and T) using Biomerieux Vidas and Mini Vidas, DPC Immulite, Nyocard and Roche Cardiac Reader. - Performs HBsAg, HCV, HIV screening using Orgenics Immunocomb, Serodia and Biomerieux Vidas and mini vidas. Performs other serological tests such as C- Reactive protein, Anti streptolysin-O, Rheumatoid Factor, Typhidot and Rapid Plasma Reagin. - Run Quality control and calibrations of machines periodically. - Coordinate with doctors on results that are within panic values. Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine: - Assess, screen and approve blood donation of prospective blood donors. - Perform phlebotomy/ bleeding of donors. - Process whole blood to different components. - Perform antibody screening tests and crossmatching of blood - Release and monitor transfusion of crossmatched blood to patients. - Investigate transfusion reactions if any.
