Neuroscientist specializing in neuropsychiatric disorders, with broad experience in drug discovery, preclinical research (animal models), product development (experimental instruments) and advanced data analysis (computational models). My work has focused on broad range of conditions such as Neurodegeneration disease (Alzheimer’s disease), metabolic disease (mitochondrial dysfunction), metal disorders (depression and anxiety) and neurodevelopment disorders (autism), using approaches including behaviors, MRI, and microscopy imaging. In addition, I bring experience in supervision, lab and data management, consultancy, grant writing, and international collaboration.
Leading and Executing Research Projects: - Establishing and validating a social interation Rodent operant instrument, RatPad. - Preclinical Study – new compound efficacy test, functinal MRI, DTI - Large-Scale Imaging – Conducted extensive fluorescent microscopy imaging of brain tissue. Additional Expertise: - Data analysis, scientific publications, and lectures. - Supervision and mentorship of PhD, Master’s, and Bachelor’s students.
Successfully developed and implemented a MATLAB-based algorithm to control a behavioral paradigm (spatial set-shifting), which was tested and validated in animal experiments.
Providing scientific advices; coordinate meetings; presentations
Leading and Executing Research Projects - Mechanisms of Comorbidity Between Drug Addiction and Depression in 5-HTT KO Rats - Discovered that KO rats exhibit reduced inhibitory and excitatory neurons and increased FosB stress markers in the PFC. - Identified mild decisional anhedonia in KO rats compared to WT rats. - Visual Categorization and Generalization in 5-HTT KO Rats - Found that KO rats respond faster than WT rats in a novel touchscreen-based visual task during outcome and stimulus generalization. - Demonstrated that KO rats have a lower learning rate and drift rate in visual category learning. - Observed ASD-like behavior, where KO rats are more affected by irrelevant stimuli during stimulus generalization. Additional Expertise - Data analysis, scientific publications, and presentations. - Supervising and mentoring Master’s and Bachelor’s students. - Project & Event Management – Organizing and attending scientific meetings. - Stakeholder Communication – Engaging with key scientific collaborators. - Leadership & Representation – Served as the representative for Chinese PhD students at the institute.
