Sim Ann’s main area of practice includes commercial and civil disputes, insolvency (bankruptcy and winding up) and receivership, commercial fraud, real property disputes, breach of trust, family law, corporate disputes involving both shareholders and directors, judicial review, conveyancing as well as probate and administration matter. Sim Ann had appeared in all levels of Court including High Court, Court of Appeal and Federal Court. Sim Ann had acted for both public and private companies, including developers as well as foreign companies. One of the notable cases that Sim Ann was involved a dispute between a landowner which is a well-known developer and a public authority which went up to Federal Court Besides, she was also involved in real property transactions involving both sub-sales and direct sales by developers of several housing developments in Klang Valley where she was involved in the preparation of legal documents such as sale and purchase agreements as well as loan documentations for several financial institutions. Sim Ann has experience working with lawyers from other jurisdictions including British Virgin Islands, Jersey, Hong Kong and Thailand for a high profile matter involving several contentious issues concerning discovery of documents, trusts, share agreements and company law in other jurisdictions. Sim Ann had also worked alongside several senior counsels in Malaysia on various contentious matters including an ongoing family feud which involves issues relating to trust, probate and power of attorney which has been highly reported by both local and overseas media. Sim Ann graduated with a 2nd Class Upper degree in law from the University of Northumbria, United Kingdom in 2014. Sim Ann subsequently obtained her Certificate in Legal Practise and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor by the High Court of Malaya in 2017.
