Teacher Extraordinaire! I’m a change agent for little people who aspire to be great in life! I teach all things reading and my ultimate goal is to perfect the craft of other teachers through coaching.
-Coach pre-service teachers through 6 coaching cycles during their student teaching.
• Successfully grew student’s love for reading with a 90% success rate • Tracked AR reading data for the school • Created schoolwide reading incentives to help promote literacy • Partnered with reading teachers to give them assistance with standards students were struggling with. • Created projects for students in grades K-5 that pushed for critical thinking skills. • Surpassed last year’s reading goal of 26 million words read. (33 million) • Increased the pass/fail rate on AR assessments by 80%
• Used the curriculum to create questions that mirrored the state assessment • Used data to create small groups and tailor make lesson plans that would allow all students to be successful • Used the state rubric for writing to alter lesson plans that would allow students to be successful • 70% of students met map goals in ELA. 65% met map goals in reading • 98% of students in the “tracking group” were proficient or advanced on state testing • 90% of students made growth on the state assessment (taught 65 students)
