I am an executive with a 15 years track record in (health) technology and compliance. I have a talent for inspiring people, building bridges and disseminating knowledge. Coming from the start-up and scale-up world, I believe that inspirational leadership is key in creating an environment of trust that facilitates innovation. I am a problem solver with a high affinity towards information technology, automation, and data science. I function best in innovative environments where creativity is considered an asset. People describe me as an open-minded and social person with a large variety of interests.
I lead our mission to drive innovation and accelerate the digital transformation of businesses towards intelligent enterprises. I focus on developing new value propositions, shaping our AI and technology strategy, and embedding innovation as a core driver of sustainable growth.
As the Chief Technology Officer of Amista, I focus on aligning cutting-edge technology with our core strengths: SAP ERP platforms, seamless technology integration, and Intelligent Document Processing, all supported by Change Management and Digital Learning expertise.
In my function of Chief Technology Officer, my goal is to stay on the leading edge of technology and scientific insights to further improve the quality of respiratory health care using sensitive biomarkers. As a member of the executive committee, my role is to define the company’s strategy and to provide leadership to the technology departments in a fashion that supports the company’s culture, mission and values.
As head of the imaging department, consisting of a fast growing international team of engineers, I managed the information stream interoperability between the European, US and Asian offices. A very important aspect in this exponential growing environment was continuous process optimization with a large focus on automated quality control. Throughout this period, I have specialized myself in the management of large datasets and advanced statistical analyses. Together with the CEO and COO, I was the main point of contact during scientific conferences and during meetings with pharmaceutical companies. Several personal and company-wide awards were obtained, both in the scientific and in the business community.
In this role, I was responsible for streamlining the fast expansion of a start-up company in respiratory medicine. In order to sustain the exponential growth (30% per year), I have implemented several new business processes and communication platforms. I was the coordinator of a successful grant application (Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship) with a budget of 2 million euros. I have combined this function with a PhD where I developed imaging biomarkers to enhance drug development and patient care in pulmonology.
I investigated different meshing and solving strategies for calculating the flow in intra- and extrathoracic airways (Fluent and OpenFOAM). As a team, we worked on the validation of these results using Particle Image Velocimetry. Furthermore, I was responsible for the administration of the Linux-based high performance cluster and the design of a knowledge and communication platform.
