The Area Governor is a District Officer responsible for the health and growth of the Toastmasters clubs in an area. Along with fellow Area Governors I produced the bi-annual Area Contests, including recruiting contestants, supporters, and donors. My Area Governor responsibility included monitoring five clubs in the area; I visited their meetings on multiple occasions and provided guidance and make-up officer leadership effectiveness training as needed. As a result my area was awarded Distinguished Area by Toastmasters International, and I personally was awarded Area Governor of the Year by the Division Governor.
