I'm a dedicated neonatal nurse with a passion for education, patient safety and team development. In my role as a Practice and Professional Development Nurse with Hywel Dda University Health Board, I provide and facilitate training for all members of the neonatal team - from health care assistants and nurses to doctors - ensuring high standards of care and ongoing professional growth across the service. My previous experience working in UHW, a tertiary NICU, alongside CHANTS, has given me valuable insight and perspective that I now bring to support my current team. Alongside this, I'm currently on secondment with the Welsh Risk Pool as a Safety and Learning Advisor, where I lead the MoNET Wales programme (Multi-professional Neonatal Emergency Training). This national initiative focuses on enhancing clinical skills and strengthening human factors awareness within multidisciplinary teams responding to neonatal emergencies. I'm passionate about creating safer, more effective healthcare environments through meaningful, evidence-based training. Whether it's through bedside teaching, simulation-based education, or strategic quality improvement, I'm driven by the belief that empowered teams deliver better outcomes for newborns and their families. I began my nursing journey at Plymouth University, where I qualified as a Children's Nurse. While working in a busy neonatal unit in Cardiff, I further developed my clinical expertise by completing the High Dependency and Intensive Care modules at University of South Wales. More recently, I achieved a Postgraduate Certificate with distinction in Medical Education from Swansea University - a qualification that has strengthened my skills and confidence as a nurse educator. This academic foundation continues to support my passion for delivering high-quality, evidence-based training to multidisciplinary teams. Outside of work, I live in beautiful West Wales and find my happiest moments by the the coast - whether it's walking my dog on the beach or being out on the water.
