Established in 1984, the F. William Harder Chair of Business Administration is designed to make possible the appointment from beyond the Skidmore faculty of a distinguished executive at the senior level, who will teach a variety of courses, participate in the development of the College’s program in business and in the interactions between the Management and Business Department and the liberal arts program, and energetically enhance Skidmore’s contacts with the leaders of both the Saratoga and the national business communities. Harder Chairs will be appointed through national searches conducted by the Vice President for Academic Affairs in consultation with members of the Management and Business Department, the Dean of the Faculty and the Committee on Appointments, Promotions, and Tenure. Appointments as Harder Professor will not exceed five years.
Founded CleanTech practice group at Whiteman, Osterman & Hanna. Helped site and finance wind parks across New York State. Worked with other renewable energy providers to develop business strategies.
