Toronto, Ontario, Canada
As of Friday July 10, 2015, I moved my practice to Leslieville, near downtown and opened my own office, Clear. My mission is to continue to provide comprehensive eye care with the latest technology. I will continue my specialty in complicated contact lenses for keratoconus, post-surgical complications and dry eye treatment.
I joined View Eye Care in Sept. 2012 and worked there until July 2015.
Dr. William Macrae and I joined Dr. Barbara Caffery and Dr. Roshni Echharam to start a new eye care clinic in April 2007, combining both optometry and ophthalmology. Ophthalmologists, Dr. Nupura Bakshi and Dr. Paul Sanghera subsequently joined the practice. In addition to taking care of patients, we worked together on dry eye clinical studies. I continued to treat patients needing speciality contact lenses for keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, corneal transplants, corneal diseases, severe dry eye and lasik surgery complications. Unfortunately in the summer of 2012, our building was sold and with the short notice the doctors went to different locations. However, we will continue to refer to each other and to take of care patients together.
I returned to my hometown, Toronto, after Ryerson University hired my husband as professor in Medical Physics. I joined Dr. William Macrae, an ophthalmologist and award winning faculty of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine for his teaching. I saw many patients who had glaucoma, macular degeneration, eye infections and other eye diseases, who I treated with Dr. Macrae. We worked together until 2007 and then together joined the Yorkville Eye Clinic after our location, the Medical Arts Building was taken over by the University of Toronto for faculty offices.
After completing residency at the University of California, Berkeley, I moved with my husband to Santa Fe, New Mexico because he was starting at post-doctoral fellowship at Los Alamos National Lab. I passed the oral state licensing exam which is one of the hardest in the U.S. I worked at Buena Vista Eye Care in both their offices in Santa Fe and in a smaller town, Las Vegas, New Mexico. Since New Mexico has one of the broadest scope of optometry, I practiced full scope of treating ocular disease and managing vision problems.
