About

After fifteen years within the creative realms I decided to shift my career towards the games industry via a degree in Computer Arts. I brought with me the professional skills to work to client briefs within budget and time restraints, to manage teams and problem solve. As a student I led a VR project from concept to playable level within six months, creating all of the artwork alongside producing and pitching the project. I am excited by the opportunities to explore visual communication and spatial narrative within VR, and as an environment artist I enjoy the whole process of creating immersive spaces. From ideation and storytelling to asset development; high and low poly modelling, making modular assets, props, environments and texturing, through to implementation and development in engine. Joining an industry that keeps pushing boundaries is my goal for making the tough decision to leap into a new career.

I completed a ten week course with Snappy Gurus focusing on the creation of one complete environment within the timeframe. My brief was to use storytelling elements to show 'what was left behind' in a Viking environment when the men had left to go raiding. I chose to create a scene from within a Shaman's dwelling after the foretelling of the men's doomed raid. This environment was completed and I am currently working on getting it set up for VR.

I follow the studio pipeline from concept through block out, modelling, sculpting, retopology, UV mapping, baking and texturing phases; concluding with asset integration into UE5, and adhere to workflows and LOF standards by documenting progress via Miro and Hansoft, file management and source control in Perforce and use of remote workstations through Parsec.
