Accompanied Professor Baluarte and Professor Boaz and a team of 4 other students to Mexico City. Delivered a presentation in Spanish to students at Iberoamericana University on Immigration Detention in the United States.
Counseled eleven clients on their immigration matters. Client interfacing involved notifying clients of updates to their case, conducting client interviews, and providing clients with supervised legal advice. Drafted asylum applications, client affidavits, fee waivers, responses to requests for evidence, change of address forms, work authorizations, an application for federal Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), and related legal memoranda and communications with the federal government. Filed custody petition and associated motions before the family court of Lexington/Rockbridge County in preparation for a SIJS application. Completed a total of 430 clinic hours.
