Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands
For over 25 years I've worked at the intersection of capital and real estate, helping investment managers and institutional investors raise capital, find liquidity, and structure the vehicles that move the indirect real estate market. As Head of Capital Advisors Netherlands at CBRE, I lead our real estate corporate finance activities, combining local depth with the global reach of CBRE Investment Banking across EMEA. My work spans the full capital lifecycle: non-listed equity placement for funds, clubs, joint ventures and separate accounts; secondary market trading and liquidity solutions; recapitalizations; "bricks for shares" transactions; public-to-private deals; and joint venture and asset manager searches. I also advise C-level on strategic choices at the cross section of growth, recapitalization, restructuring and liquidity. My background bridges tax, structuring, and corporate finance—from my early years as a real estate tax lawyer at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte, through M&A, IPO, and fund structuring mandates, to leading capital advisory work today. That combination lets me see both the structural and the strategic side of a transaction. Over my career I've advised on more than €10 billion of capital raising and secondary transactions across European real estate markets, working with top-tier GPs and LPs from around the globe. I work most closely with investment managers looking to strengthen and grow their platforms, and with investors seeking the right entry, liquidity or strategic repositioning of their real estate holdings.
Advised on capital raising for non-listed funds, clubs, joint ventures and separate accounts, for over €10 billion of equity with institutional investors from core to opportunistic profiles and all property segments including residential, PBSA, senior housing, office, high street, department stores, convenience and data centers. Executed secondary market transactions totaling around €2bn, providing liquidity solutions to investors seeking to exit or rebalance real estate holdings. Advised on various strategic decisions including recapitalizations and restructurings. Built and lead the Capital Advisors Netherlands team, part of the global distribution team.
