• Conduct and analyze client assessments. • Engage client’s in case management sessions that cover topics including anger management, conflict resolution, goal setting, decision making, cultural activities and norms, health, life skills practice and more. • Refer clients’ for services as needed. • Create and prepare curriculum and teach group life skills and gender specific programming. • Manage client data and evaluate programs. • Write grant proposals for new and ongoing projects.
• Responsible for the development and oversight of criminal and restorative justice programs including Criminal Court Mediation, Victim Offender Mediation, and Community Conferencing. • Oversee all case management processes related to the position. • Train, support, and coordinate volunteer mediators and facilitators. • Maintain relationships and conduct outreach and trainings with judges, the District Attorney’s Office, and Defense Attorneys, and others involved in the Criminal or Restorative Justice field. • Create community outreach tools. • Develop new Restorative Justice programs and bring pilot projects to scale within programmatic goals.
• Mediate cases as needed. • Conduct in-person and telephone case intake, screening, and development. • Provide instruction and support to other staff and volunteers in how to respond to client calls and inquiries. • Schedule mediation sessions and coordinate volunteer mediators. • Communicate with referral sources and assist in outreach efforts. • Maintain up to date information on community resources for clients and provide appropriate referrals to clients, if needed. • Assist other staff members with various projects. • Conduct follow up with all community center mediation clients 1-3 months after the conclusion of a mediated case.
• Assist children and families with transitioning to residing at home after a foster care placement. • Monitor child’s health, school performance, and adjustment back into his parent’s home. • Monitor birth parent’s adjustment to having their child returned and refer them to community and therapeutic services. • Prepare case documentation including progress notes and various court documents.
• Organized, convened, and facilitated community conferences designed to provide a highly participatory, community-based process for people to safely resolve their conflicts and take collective and personal responsibility for action. • Accepted referrals from various sources including Baltimore City Public Schools, Baltimore School Police, Baltimore City Police Department, Department of Juvenile Services, States Attorney’s Office, and the community. • Updated and maintain social media sites.
• Provided case management services to clients enrolled in the Emergency Assistance Program. • Assisted in organizing monthly food pantry. • Conducted survey to assess satisfaction of 2009 clients. • Performed needs assessment for possible creation of homeless prevention program.
