The Future of StoryTelling summit is an annual event in New York City devoted to championing the art and commerce of storytelling in the digital age. This invitation-only, multidisciplinary summit draws leaders from the worlds of traditional media, CMOs from Fortune 100 companies, and the top innovators and creatives from the tech community. Unlike a traditional conference, FoST features intimate, speaker-led roundtables; immersive experiences; hands-on master classes; exclusive studio tours; and interactive exhibitions. The FoST online community has grown to a community of nearly a million people. I oversee programming of speakers and workshop leaders for the summit. I have overseen the Future of StoryTelling (FoST) film series since it's inception in 2012. We partner speakers with filmmakers and animators in advance of the conference and oversee production of short films that creatively embody our speakers' insights. We first work with the speakers to distill their subject into a core set of ideas, then find world class filmmakers and animators from around the world to help us creatively bring those ideas to life. Our films have been viewed millions of times. Since 2017 I've oversee our FoST for Good initiative, where our goal is to harness the amazing intellectual and creative braintrust of our community of expert storytellers to help address communication challenges faced by nonprofits that are tackling some of the most important issues of our time. The 2017 FoST for Good participants included Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, Sierra Club, Glaad, and Democracy Prep.
