👋 Hey, I’m Carolyn - I'm a 25 year old copywriter with a fuck it attitude. I also run Word Tonic; a community of 2500 global GEN-Z copywriters. Here's a lil snapshot of my life: Always, always loved writing. I know everybody says that, but it's true. I grew up with Jaqueline Wilson and mini Powerpoint magazines and a belief that somehow...someway...I'd land up writing for a living. It uhmmm...wasn't that wasn't that easy. For one, my ass was never told about copywriting at school. So I decided to go to uni to try figure it all out...later. But I couldn't even do that and ended up dropping out a couple months' later because I couldn't afford it and because my mind was in a constant head-fuck around my alcoholic parents. It was also round about this time I decided to get into s*x work to try keep everything afloat. But luckily LUCKILY a few months after all THAT I found out about freelance copywriting and realised I'd sorta been doing it my whole life anyway so I dove head first into it. And in the process, ended up creating a free weekly newsletter for young aspiring copywriters with over 10,000+ subscribers at 22; Word Tonic. That newsletter has now gotten way bigger than I ever thought it would- it's now a online community of 3,000+ gen-z copywriters worldwide. A community filled with resources like workshops with brands like Pokemon, challenges and briefs to make the creative industry more accessible (and fun). My purpose is to help + inspire other young people. To prove that age means nothing. To prove that young people can become copywriters early - like I did. To prove that they DON’T have to be defined by the the junior,' label. That they can become freelancers ‘early.’ That they can scale the ladder quickly. That's what this community's all about. It champions fresh emerging talent (it even has its own young copywriter's directory). It's being driven directly by young copywriters. It's giving young people a space to connect, share advice + tips and learn from one another. Bounce ideas off each other. Upskill. Because copywriting's a continuous learning journey and it's amazing if you have a group of people your own age to share it with.

*Freelance B2B & Tech Copywriter* B2B & tech copy doesn't need to be boring. And ~not~ boring doesn't have to mean LOUD, OBNOXIOUS, and SCARY. It just means adding a bit of a human touch to your copy. That's my job.
