A new edition of my book, The Quack Doctor in Victorian Britain, will be out soon. Having carved out a niche in the subject of historical quackery, I regularly give talks about it. I have spoken at The Old Operating Theatre Museum, the Wellcome Library, the Thackray Museum, St George’s Hospital medical school, the QED conference, Skeptics in the Pub groups and numerous other venues. I have appeared as an expert on the BBC’s Great British Railway Journeys and A House Through Time, and BBC Radio 4’s comedy panel show, Best Medicine. I'm also the co-host of She Wrote Too, a podcast that celebrates the lives and works of female writers of the past.
