About

As a highly professional commercial consultant coming from a solid agricultural and marketing background I am ideally placed to 'Help Grow Food and Drink Businesses' throughout the whole supply chain from 'Farm to Fork' and specialise in Organic, Local and Direct Markets with a keen personal interest in organic and livestock enterprises. I am a strategic planner with extremely high interpersonal and time management skills who can successfully manage different work strands simultaneously. I also enjoy teaching, student mentor and dissertation supervision roles. On behalf of the Scottish Organic Forum and working closely with Wendy Seel and the Scottish Government, I organised a reception at the Scottish Parliament (Jan 2016) to 'Celebrate Organic Ambitions', Scotland's Organic Action Plan 2016 - 2020 which was developed and written by myself and Wendy Seel, Antonia Ineson and David Michie on behalf of the Scottish Organic Forum. I joined SAC (now SRUC) on a graduate training programme in 2004 during my last year at Aberdeen University. I delivered an organic marketing workshop to Turkeys Ministry of Ag in 2007. I deliver part of the SAC Distance Learning PGDip/MSc in Organic Farming where I am a Core Team member. The remit of my role changed slightly in 2010 when I joined the SAC Food & Drink team and now encompasses local, direct and third sector marketing and development as well as organic marketing. In addition to this I recently completed my Certificate in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and PD:ITALL (Adult Literacy Tutor). Specialties: organic, local, direct and third sector marketing and promotion
