∙ Help indigent population of Baton Rouge and surrounding areas find pro bono representation on civil matters, with approximately 95 open cases each month. ∙ Organize and schedule outreach clinic opportunities with local community organizations in accordance with BRBA’s grants. ∙ Every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, staff and complete intake on clients who attend BRBA’s free legal advice clinic at local homeless shelter, St. Vincent de Paul. ∙ Three or four times per month, staff and complete intake on clients who attend BRBA’s Ask a Lawyer free legal advice clinics in Baton Rouge and surrounding parishes, counties. ∙ Serve as BRBA representative for Medical Legal Partnership (MLP) and oversee all Medical Legal Pro Bono cases. Attend safety huddles weekly at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital and make rounds with medical providers, educating staff, patients and families about MLP and the ways BRBA could assist with medical legal issues. ∙ Serve as staff liaison to BRBA’s Family Law Section, coordinating and scheduling 10 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) classes and luncheons per year. ∙ Coordinate annual Geaux Casual for Pro Bono fundraiser.
∙ Worked with more than 300 chapters from across the United States, Puerto Rico and the Philippines with the society’s Online Enrollment Program (OEP). ∙ Interacted with chapter officers on a daily basis, managing all OEP shipments and chapter initiations and maintaining chapter records and reports. ∙ Wrote “Chapter Spotlight” column in society’s national magazine, “The Forum.” ∙ Assisted with planning and served as speaker at society’s biannual convention. ∙ Represented society at national higher education conferences.
∙ Wrote and edited articles and ad copy for business and industry publication that published 10 times per year.
∙ Hired by French government to teach English to high school students at Lycée Pierre Bourdan in Gueret, and also instructed on American and Louisiana culture and customs.
