Sales, distributor, promotions, advertisement, cashier, ordered merchandise, greeted customers, educated customers, worked in the vineyards & planned events. This story started with being part of the planning & research and then the juice came; soon after this, the first wine was born, after that the planting of our grapes vines and then netting and picking other vineyard grapes with family and friends coming out for the experience. We did our own remodeling of what was soon to be the tasting room and then came opening day with support from family, friends and future friends. Our wines became bigger and better each year and was soon venturing out to local businesses and were traveling to stores out of town. More grapevines were planted but there was a mix- up on the planting day so I missed this hard long weekend. I was thankful for friends that stepped-up in my absence. A year later, I was sure to be part of planting more vines in the new location, south of town. This business was a wonderful journey in my home town but with all stories, there is a time when part of the story must end. Mine was November 2014 but the story of the Nearwood Winery Tasting Room lives on.
