Seattle, Washington, United States
I have deep compassion for my clients and seek to obtain justice and the best remedies for them which the law has to offer.
As Of Counsel practitioner with the Savage Law Firm I consult and co-counsel in major medical malpractice actions including birth injury, wrongful death, drug overdose, medical device litigation, as well as cases involving sexual abuse.
As a solo attorney my practice focuses on representing individuals who are survivors of CSAM crimes (child sex abuse material formerly known as child pornography). A current focus is pursuit of remedies in both the criminal restitution and civil law suit contexts. The law is quickly developing in this important and dynamic area and I have been active in pushing forward the rights of those who are hurt most dramatically by this wide spread, pervasive crime. I am a member of the appellate team which brought the case of Paroline v. United States to the US Supreme Court. The Court issued its opinion on April 23, 2014, and we continue to work on these issues to clarify the rights of crime victims. I have appeared on the Dr. Phil Show, and on local television commenting on the rights of victims of child pornography. I have spoken at a number conferences on the injuries experienced by those depicted in child sex abuse material. I have been quoted in the New York Times, the Boston Globe, Seattle Times, ABA Journal, and a number of other newspapers on this issue. My past practice other than serious personal injury has included criminal prosecution and defense, relinquishment and adoption, family law, disability, civil rights and employment, and other general litigation matters.
As a principal at Campiche Hepburn McCarty & Bianco LLC I was co-counsel on two of the first third-party sexual harassment cases brought which resolved successfully for a large group of plaintiffs. I reviewed and prosecuted cases of racial and sexual harassment in the maritime industry and other industrial employment. I litigated serious maritime injuries and medical negligence cases.
At Reaugh Fischnaller & Oettinger my practice was varied and dynamic including family law, employment discrimination, Law Enforcement Officer and Firefighter's disability actions, as well as personal injury. I represented police officers in a variety of administrative, disciplinary, and civil service matters. I worked with birth-parents going through the painful process of relinquishing their new born infants for adoption, and volunteered as a Confidential Intermediary for those seeking reunion with family members from whom they were separated by adoption. I served on the Board of Washington Adoption Rights Movement, a volunteer, non-profit organization devoted to reunion of those separated by adoption.
Litigation in civil and administrative actions including personal injury, medical malpractice, LEOFF disability, civil service, family law, employment discrimination and harassment.
