I am an aspiring Practical Nurse with a strong foundation in hands-on caregiving and clinical support. Growing up alongside my older brother, who lived with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, I assisted with gastrointestinal tube feeding, mechanical lifts and transfers, range-of-motion support, hydration, and daily care needs. What began as family responsibility became a purposeful career path. I later worked professionally in home care, supporting individuals with complex needs and strengthening my practical skills in safe, compassionate care. I take pride in being dependable and clinically competent. Pursuing Practical Nursing is my next step in building the knowledge and expertise required to provide high-quality patient-centered care.
Provided in-home support to individuals with physical and developmental disabilities, assisting with activities of daily living and promoting independence, safety, and quality of life. Responsibilities included personal care, mobility and transfer support (including use of mechanical lifts), feeding assistance including G-tube support, range-of-motion exercises, medication reminders, and monitoring for changes in health status. Collaborated with families and interdisciplinary teams to follow individualized care plans, ensure client dignity, and maintain a safe, supportive home environment. Documented care activities and upheld agency policies and standards of practice.
