In hands-on experience at international art organisations, overseeing all day-to-day duties, as well as in a freelance curatorial practice, I have acquired a specialized skill set within arts administration, exhibitions’ and events’ organisation and the coordination of art commissions. Main areas within my curatorial practice are the display of film and video works in gallery installations and screening programmes as well as site-specific and process-based exhibition models.
As an independent curator, I have curated various exhibitions and film screenings including a film programme at LUX/ICA Biennial of Moving Images, London, 2012 and co-curated a major solo show with London-based experimental filmmaker John Smith. My main on-going research interest in urbanism, experience of the city and notions of space in film, as reflected in the series of film screenings 'London Seizure'. My curatorial practice has a strong affiliation with film performance and the site-specific video installation, but also attempts and reflects the transition of different film forms from the cinematic to the art gallery context. I employ a curatorial approach that is sensitive and responsive to the space and the participants’ specific needs and visions.
