I am a degree qualified teacher and driven leader with 20 years experience both nationally and internationally. I specialise in supporting at-risk individuals and communities, through education-focused and strengths-based intervention.
I teach undergraduate & postgraduate courses in the School of Social Sciences. I lecture, guide tutorials, engage students in discussion, learning and feedback activities, and grade assessments and exams.

As Head of Bowen College, I oversaw a specialist school catering for students with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties from Year 9-12, including the HSC course. As a teacher I specialise in History and English, however have also taught Community and Family Studies, Mathematics, Geography, Sport and Food Technology.
I actively supported students with a disability by advising school staff on inclusive curriculum and teaching strategies. I assisted families through consultation and liaison with external agencies, government authorities and allied health professionals, and guided the collection of data for effective adjustments and interventions. Achievements to date include pioneering a play-based social skills program for children with Autism, that rolled out into the Primary and High School. I also use data analysis to determine support requirements for students with a disability.
I was selected as an Intern through UNSW and Human Rights Watch. -Assisted the Human Rights Watch Australia Director in writing briefings, background research, parliamentary submissions, media monitoring, database management and event logistics. -Produced accurate and credible research on government policies with tight, often hourly, deadlines to inform media appearances. -Contributed to in-depth research projects included in Human Rights Watch publications. I also collated research for the Human Rights Watch 2020 World Report. -Solely produced the 2019 Human Rights Watch memorandum on Australia-Indonesia relations. -Applied personal expertise and research toward the submission regarding the Australian Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee on the Inquiry into the Migration Amendment (Repairing Medical Transfers) Bill 2019.
