As a keynote speaker, I simplify complex topics such as AI and our increasingly digital lives (metaverse future). My presentations are visually engaging and humorous, making the profound implications of digital transformation relatable and thought-provoking. Audiences appreciate my ability to make complex themes understandable, challenging them to think about how they want to navigate a future where humanity and technology intersect.
Tasked with developing an innovative, multi-platform news brand for digital, social, radio, and TV channels. This role deepened my expertise in creating distinctive, forward-thinking concepts designed to engage audiences across all media. Although the brand was ultimately shelved in the final stages due to the COVID-19 crisis, the project offered valuable insights into the process of building a cohesive, cross-channel news identity.
In this role, I managed both RTL Boulevard and RTL Late Night, overseeing a top-to-bottom transformation of RTL Boulevard’s content and structure. The strategic relocation to Amsterdam brought an urgent, street-level feel to the program, integrating Amsterdam’s vibrant backdrop into the set. We shifted to fewer segments with deeper analysis, allowing experts more time to interpret daily news for viewers. This transformation had a highly positive impact on commercial target ratings, with the program seeing immediate growth in market share.
As Head of RTL Late Night, I led the show to become a market leader and time-slot winner, consistently reaching over 1.5 million viewers per episode. I introduced a fresh approach that combined information, inspiration, and entertainment, with a unique focus on sending viewers to bed with a smile—a contrast to other, more heavy-toned talk shows. The chemistry between Humberto Tan (host) and Luuk Ikink (sidekick), along with Luuk’s contributions, created a dynamic, engaging format that resonated with audiences.
As Head of RTL Boulevard, I was responsible for the daily TV show and later took on a strategic overhaul. During my second term, I transformed the show from a news provider to a news interpreter, allowing experts more airtime to offer unique insights in an era where news has become a commodity. This approach drove significant growth in market share, ensuring the show’s commercial viability and future readiness.
