About

I grew up in a small village in the Netherlands, where working on my grandfather’s farm sparked an early fascination with plants, nature, and the rhythm of the land. What started as a childhood chore quickly turned into a lifelong passion, and a career that’s taken me far beyond that little village. After starting my career in the Dutch horticultural sector, I moved overseas in my mid-twenties to explore new cultures and opportunities. Since then, I’ve worked with international companies across Europe, South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia, gaining a broad perspective on the global industry. I’ve had the privilege of working in both fast-moving startups and well-established, listed companies. This range has given me the ability to adapt quickly, lead diverse teams, and implement strategies that drive growth, improve operations, and open up new market opportunities. My focus is on innovation, sustainable practices, and identifying trends that shape the future of horticulture. I’m passionate about building strong partnerships, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and finding practical solutions to complex challenges. Always learning, always curious, and still genuinely excited about what’s growing in the greenhouse.

    • Director - Trees & Impact

Founded in 2010, Terviva is a food and ag innovation company partnering with farmers to grow pongamia, a climate-resilient tree which produces abundant, protein- and oil-rich legumes. Pongamia is uniquely suited to meet today’s environmental challenges. It sequesters carbon, improves soil health and water quality while growing on land where other crops can’t grow. This helps to avoid deforestation and revitalize agricultural lands and communities around the world. After more than a decade of innovation, we’ve developed a way to harvest and transform pongamia beans into healthy and delicious food ingredients called Ponova™. From tree to plate, our transparent and equitable supply chain spans wild harvesting, non-GMO beans in India to regenerative land stewardship in Hawaii, Florida and Australia. We believe there’s a better way to feed the world’s growing population and that local impact can drive global change.
