With nearly a decade of professional experience working at the intersection of climate strategy, sustainable finance, and socio-environmental risk assessment, my work focuses on translating environmental and social risks into decision-ready insights that support capital allocation across infrastructure and real-economy sectors in Brazil. My experience includes ESG and socio-environmental due diligence aligned with IFC Performance Standards, second-party opinions for green bonds, participation in renewable energy green loan transactions, and the independent structuring of Sicoob’s institutional Sustainable Finance Framework, defining eligibility criteria and KPIs used to classify solar energy assets and other climate-aligned activities. Through this work, I have supported the evaluation of renewable energy projects, particularly solar infrastructure, contributing to investment screening processes that connect climate transition objectives with biodiversity considerations and community-level safeguards in emerging market contexts. Currently, I support the implementation of Sicoob’s National Sustainability Agenda, embedding ESG and climate intelligence into an organization with more than R$359 billion in assets and over 10 million members across Brazil. Earlier in my career, I contributed to more than 90 ESG and socio-environmental due diligence and second-party opinion engagements involving companies, asset managers, and financial institutions representing over R$2.3 trillion in assets under management, including work that supported the mobilization of USD 75 million from IDB Invest for sustainable agriculture and solar energy initiatives focused on low-income populations. Alongside my institutional role, I founded Ambiafro, an initiative connecting environmental governance, racial equity, and climate justice in Brazil. Provide executive leadership in institutional positioning and strategic partnerships to advance Ambiafro’s role at the intersection of racial equity, climate action, and sustainable development in Brazil. Lead the design and implementation of governance, financial, and operational management frameworks, strengthening organizational sustainability and enabling scalable delivery of climate and ESG-focused initiatives. Drive strategic planning and program development across Ambiafro’s core pillars, such as sustainable entrepreneurship, climate and ESG workforce development, and inclusive access to green economy opportunities, supporting the integration of underrepresented professionals into sustainability and sustainable finance ecosystems. Coordinate partnerships with civil society organizations, private sector actors, international stakeholders, and knowledge institutions to expand collaboration pipelines aligned with climate transition and inclusive economic development agendas. Oversee monitoring and evaluation of Ambiafro’s portfolio of initiatives (20+ projects), ensuring alignment with impact objectives related to climate education, ESG capacity building, and equitable participation in the sustainable economy. Design and institutionalize governance mechanisms and operational standards to strengthen accountability, partnership readiness, and the organization’s positioning as a platform for inclusive climate and sustainable finance engagement in Brazil.
I lead enterprise-level ESG and sustainability strategy across a multi-entity financial ecosystem, integrating sustainability into core banking operations, risk frameworks, and governance structures. My work influences national implementation across ~60,000 employees and strengthens organizational alignment with global standards and investor expectations. I design and structure sustainable finance solutions and capital strategies, including an ESG investment fund (R$7M AUM) and a USD 75M financing agreement with IDB Invest, aligning capital deployment with ESG priorities, risk mitigation, and long-term value creation. I also coordinate ESG rating and disclosure strategies aligned with financial materiality, investor requirements, and market benchmarks. I led the redesign of 40 enterprise sustainability KPIs, building methodologies, monitoring systems, and reporting processes that enhance risk transparency, regulatory readiness, and strategic decision-making. I also develop capability-building programs on sustainable finance, climate risk, and ESG, supporting organizational maturity and compliance across a rapidly evolving policy landscape. I advise the Sustainability Committee, Executive Board, and Board of Directors on ESG risk exposure, regulatory developments, and capital allocation implications, translating complex trends into strategic actions. I work cross-functionally to embed sustainability criteria into credit processes, risk governance, business strategy, and performance systems. I also lead the development of strategic and disclosure frameworks, including the Corporate Sustainability Plan, Materiality Assessment Framework, Sustainability Implementation Guide, Sustainable Finance Framework, and the corporate GHG Inventory (scopes 1, 2, 3).
Led the maintenance and continuous improvement of the ISO 9001-certified management system, coordinating two internal and two external audits across 7 operational sites, involving hundreds of employees and cross-functional processes, ensuring full compliance, audit readiness, and performance consistency. Oversaw the development, implementation, and enforcement of corporate policies, programs, and occupational safety compliance frameworks, supporting risk mitigation, regulatory alignment, and operational discipline. Demonstrated strong capability in risk assessment, incident investigation, and failure analysis, conducting root-cause analyses and recommending preventive and corrective actions, with direct involvement in dozens of cases, improving safety outcomes and reducing recurrence. Led the development, control, and governance of corporate documentation across business units in Brazil, ensuring standardisation, traceability, and adherence to regulatory and certification requirements. Facilitated technical collaboration with HSE professionals across 5 subsidiary units, aligning practices, exchanging knowledge, and ensuring consistent application of standards related to health, safety, and environmental performance. Supported the design, analysis, and revision of performance indicators (KPIs) for critical processes, enhancing measurement systems, operational transparency, and data-driven decision-making. Contributed to the design and implementation of HSE, environmental, and internal control improvements, strengthening workplace safety, risk prevention, and operational efficiency.
