Provide support service both maintenance and operation related to rotating equipment, responsible for assuring the highest reliability level of the rotating equipment in the complex, and provide recommendations for preventive maintenance plans. Solve issues related to rotating equipment from the mechanical and operating point of view. Key role responsibility in reliability studies (RCM & RCA) and discipline leader for MOC process on rotating equipment. QA/QC activities during the overhaul of large turbomachinery for the olefins and polymers plants (Crack Gas (CGC) multi-case compressors, propylene and ethylene compressors, and a number or refrigeration compressors (Freon and Ammonia compressors) and hydrogen and ethylene reciprocating compressors. Currently serving on Olefins plants, and providing support to a sort of different OEM´s equipment mainly Elliott/Ebara, Mitsubishi, Kobelco, JSW and Mitsui compressors and Ebara, Dresser Rand, David Brown and Sundyne centrifugal pumps, just to mention some of them. Active member of the Reciprocating Compressors and Turbomachinery Expert Group of SABIC.
Refurbish and remanufacturing of compressors, hot gas expanders and pumps and their spporting equipment. Troubleshooting of pumps, turbines, hot gas expanders and compressors problems, operational and maintenance support. Manage the continuous improvement of rotating equipment package reliability, maintenance and repairs. Plan and manage overhaul and upgrade campaigns. Carry out maintenance and inventory reviews. Maintain the lifecycle and technical integrity of equipment by ensuring appropriate MP plans reliability strategies and engineering and manufacturing standards. Evaluate performance and condition monitoring results, ensuring appropriate follow up. Support technical authority in the assessment of anomalies, deviations from standard and maintenance deferrals, developing risk mitigations and producing technical reports where appropriate. Accountability for mechanical modifications (MOC) and management process improvements. Provide technical support for the performance of all aspects of rotating equipment care and maintenance, troubleshooting, propose solutions and manage implementation of corrective actions. Diagnose breakdowns and problems of rotating equipment, lack of performance, and operational problems and their relation with process and control systems as a whole system. Leader role to define scope of interventions for turnarounds/shutdowns. Provide technical support to new projects through review of design documents and specifications to ensure operating practices and expertise are incorporated. Deploy new technologies and innovative ideas. Carry out root cause failure analysis (RCA) when required. Provide immediate support to breakdowns that are out of capabilities and resources of onsite personnel. Work in close liaison with OEMs and specialized service suppliers in order to obtain technical support, spares and supervision availability (MAN, Siemens, Dresser Rand, Sulzer Turbo Services, BHS Voith, etc.).
I served as a planner engineer and also as a supervisor engineer. Prepared detailed scope of work and technical specifications, preparation and issuing of the MR´s, purchase orders, and recommendations to awarding contracts. Actively train and encourage the development of maintenance staff to fulfill process and systems engineering roles. Managing and leading maintenance teams in the areas of primary crushing, oil milling, homogenization, packaging / palletizing and port facilities, with particular responsibility for the compressed air plant, fresh water supply and industrial dust collectors.
