Since 2019, Carla works as a Qualified Probation Officer at the London Community Rehabilitation Company, law enforcement agency that works alongside the National Probation Service (NPS) in the UK. In her current role, Carla manages medium risk offenders with complex needs and supports and supervises those subject to community orders and licences or during custodial sentences. Particularly, she draws up risk assessments in order to assess and manage the risk posed by offenders to protect victims of crime and the general public and to prevent the commission of further crimes. During her experience in London, she has liaised with several partner agecies and has been member of a Multi-Agency Conference relating domestic abuse risk management. Carla started her career as a Probation Officer working for the Italian Ministry of Justice in Rimini (Italy) and also worked as a Social Worker in the R.E.M.S. in Montegrimano Terme (Italy), a custodial residence for high risk offenders with mental health needs. She graduated from the University of Naples "Federico II" completing the Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with a dissertation in Criminal Law. During her first years of studies, Carla had the chance to achieve professional skills during several internships in different fields, such as Youth Criminal Justice, Children in Need and Mental Health Centre. She also completed her first-class honour Master's Degree in Social Work and Social Policies at "Sapienza" University of Rome and focused her dissertation in the evaluation of the local care services for vulnerable people. In February 2018, Carla completed her First Level Master in Criminology and Forensic Psychiatry at University of the San Marino Republic and achieved a considerable knowledge in the field. Carla is a member of the "Ordine degli assistenti sociali della Campania" since 2014, took part to several public exams in Italy, and is also currently registered at the Social Work England. Since she moved to London, she has been a volunteer befriender for Octavia Foundation, helping vulnerable people in the community.
Certified yoga teacher dedicated to supporting personal growth and well-being through mindful movement. Experienced in practicing Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, and holistic practices to diverse groups. Strong background in psychology and social sciences, as well as in working with vulnerable populations and fostering a positive, supportive environment. I combine my motivational problem solving and empathic a skills to my yoga practice and work with students.
