In 2023, I joined the Word Food Programme, the largest humanitarian organization. As part of Internal Communications and Engagement Team in HQ, I'm delighted to work on • Producing multimedia content for internal channels—including WFP intranet, Viva Engage Communities, computer lock screens, digital screens and posters • Designing custom pages on Drupal based intranet • Capturing photos and videos of events taking place in WFP Headquarters • Creating guidelines for internal channels to ensure brand and quality consistency • Producing internal Teams events • Providing regular Google Analytics and heatmaps reports on content performance • Supporting leadership and change communications
In 2021, I joined UN Volunteers Regional Office of Europe and Central Asia, taking a role that blends multimedia production, social media management and design. As part of my role, I worked on • Developing and executing the social media strategy for the Regional Office accounts, including International Volunteer Day campaigns • Managing online events and live streams across social media platforms • Redesigning and creating fresh marketing materials in a unified style—presentations, one-pagers, posters, postcards and branded merchandise. • Supporting the website with photos, articles and multimedia • Handling web pages related to Ukraine war emergency on Drupal-based website • Photography and video production for events, international days and promotional materials • Coordinating vendors for multimedia production Joining the United Nations was my lifelong dream, and doing so with a focus on promoting the volunteerism was the cherry on top for me. With the coordinated efforts of our small-but-mighty communications team, we grew our accounts, boosted the engagement and and kept the SDGs in focus, while keeping volunteerism at the heart of it all.
I joined Ekofil, a community-supported publishing initiative focusing on environment and sustainability literature, in 2020. As part of the team, I took on the design responsibilities, including • Creating social media posts and templates • Designing book covers • Expanding branding for the children’s book line I always wanted to design a book cover, so getting to do that with as part of a meaningful initiative is one of the biggest achievements of my design career!
Believing in collaboration, equality and the power of individuals to drive the change, I joined Albatros Tech Cooperative in early 2020 as a worker-owner. As worker-owners, we shared the internal responsibilities and decision-making. Internally, I co-lead • Designing the corporate identity (excluding logo) • Illustrating and designing the corporate website • Preparing and executing the communication plan for the brand launch • Creating content for the social media channels As part of our services, I worked on • Client and project management • Communication planning, branding, and visual identity development • Web development with WordPress, Drupal, PHP, custom CRMs • UX design I left Albatros in mid-2021 to start my United Nations journey. When I first joined, Albatros was still an initiative, but later in 2022, it became the first official tech cooperative in Turkey. I'm still a big supporter of them and the values we share together.
Wanting to deepen my experience on web design and social media, I joined Alaturca Design in 2020. We mainly focused on web design for NGOs and small businesses, delivering: • 10+ websites using HTML, CSS, Elementor and Divi • Branding and graphic design services. Being freelancers, I also learned how to manage client relations and find the sweet spot in project offers!
