I volunteer as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Suni Lab, coordinated by Dr. Sevan Suni, where I support ongoing research on bee pollination and genetics. I assisted a master’s student by measuring the intertegular (IT) span of multiple bee species using precision calipers, contributing to data collection. Currently, I am working on a collaborative project with Dr. Kyle DeMarr at UCSF, using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to image bee specimens and perform detailed morphological measurements in Fiji (ImageJ). I have shadowed Dr. DeMarr during SEM sample preparation, and I work with Dr. Suni to analyze and interpret results using R, supporting data visualization and quantitative analysis.
I support students in achieving academic success through one-on-one and small-group tutoring across various science courses, including General Biology I & II, Cellular Physiology, Genetics, General Chemistry I & II, Organic Chemistry I & II, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry I, General Physics I, Introduction to Physics I, and Calculus I. Tutoring emphasizes mastery of core concepts, exam preparation, and effective study strategies, with each session personalized to meet individual learning needs. I encourage strategic problem-solving and critical thinking to help students approach complex material with greater confidence and independence. Beyond tutoring sessions, I serve as a resource for students, guiding them to relevant academic and support services offered by the University of San Francisco and helping ensure they receive support throughout their academic journey.
