About

A propensity for visual storytelling stemming from years of making videos for fun, I am in the process of building a portfolio of passion projects and ‘corporate jobs’ (for friends and family) which can be found at https://youtube.com/@cameronwithers5726. I know I still have a lot to learn hence why I am eager to gain experience at a prestigious video production company as soon as possible.

  • Tesco Delivery Driver at Tesco

  • Director/Producer/Editor at Self-employed

I was commissioned to produce a promotional video advertising a product used in horse care and welfare. This project taught me a number of crucial lessons, such as how to best direct ‘talent’, the legal intricacies of advertising a product on commercial websites such as Amazon, and how to prepare for and deal with the logistics of filming on location. I implemented lessons I have learnt about interview lighting, shot composition and visual storytelling to produce a video that the client was exceptionally happy with and has therefore offered paid work in the future. • Production Assistant at Fabulous Bingo
    Oct 2025 - Oct 2025 · 1 mo

At another work experience shoot, I was involved with the set up and filming of a group of Fabulous Bingo competition winners at a hair and makeup salon in London. My mentor allowed me to operate the camera and we collaborated on the lighting arrangement. The shoot was highly dynamic as a certain number of shots were required early in the day in order to ensure full coverage of the shot plan. I shadowed the camera operator and audio engineer so as to gain a thorough understanding of each aspect of the shoot.

Using experience gained from my previous internship, I planned and executed a promotional video for a local horse livery with the intention of releasing it on social media. The shoot consisted of static and moving, internal and external shots and some drone shots. Working with animals was a challenge because the unpredictable nature of the horses forced me to capture the shots efficiently, meaning exposure and focus had to be set at a fast pace. In post production, I endeavoured to establish an overall sense of warmth and friendliness that hopefully would come across to prospective customers. I did this through using natural lighting, the grade and sound design. Please find the video using the following link: https://youtu.be/YU-LolfKh_M?si=VvYDYST-vdW09kyj

  • Production Assistant at Hearing Dogs For Deaf People
    Apr 2025 - Apr 2025 · 1 mo

I was invited to a shoot for a promotional video for the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity. I studied the director and camera operator, paying attention to their lighting choices, observing the camera movements, questioning their camera settings and contributing to discussions. I was also given various documents such as shot lists and call sheets which were invaluable resources to learn from and use in the future for my own shoots.
