Hi! I am Caleb Ho. I am a Junior studying Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. I am exploring different industries, but I am interested in manufacturing, controls, and design. I am ready to apply the technical skills I've learned at school to the industry world. In my most recent position at GAF as a Process Intern, I have learned how to communicate with multiple teams and solve complex problems. Please feel free to reach out and connect! [email protected]
Supervised daily store operations and coordinated a 10-person team to uphold service quality and food safety. Trained new staff in food prep, sanitation, and POS systems to ensure continuity amid high turnover. Oversaw inventory control, vendor ordering, and labor reporting to optimize cost-efficiency and reduce waste.
Worked alongside 5 teammates in the Quality and Control Department and 26 production machine operators to ensure 500,000+ square feet of our product are up to customer standards through various tests and process repairs. Directed the installation of a vital machine to increase production capacity and add redundancy to avoid downtime by leading 8 departmental meetings with 10+ employees and writing official documentation of capital spending. Collaborated with the Research and Development Department to test 5 iterations of a new product using machinery and SolidWorks to create the final product releasing early 2025. Spearheaded a new sorting program for 900+ products to automate manual processes involving emailing shipping orders to vendors using Google Sheets and Javascript, making the process faster by 45 minutes. Contracted and implemented a fabricated downpipe to solve a mechanical production problem, increasing stable quality and reducing operator working time by 30 minutes. Created and assisted 40 work instructions using POKA to standardize production tasks, streamlining production and improving process variability and efficiency.
