Development of a UC-wide clearinghouse for humanitarian, development, emergency management, recovery and resilience resources, including faculty expertise, institutes and programs, and funding availability.
Led the development of metrics and evaluation systems for public safety policy options in the office of the Long Beach City Manager and with the Long Beach Police Department. Using a human-centered design process, the Team developed solutions to improve outcomes for the City of Long Beach in dealing with individuals with the highest frequency of local criminal justice-system involvement. Based on Team recommendations, Long Beach implemented a Multidisciplinary Case Management Team, is deploying a city-wide integrated database to identify and intervene with high-frequency users of city services and has secured a Laura and John Arnold Foundation grant for randomized controlled trial evaluation of policy effectiveness.
