I have had plenty of experience in the customer service industry, and even more experience in feeding my enthusiasm for the arts; wherever I have travelled I aim to see as many galleries, museums, works of art and public spaces as I can, and my goal is to enrich these experiences even further. I am most interested in mid-19th century to 20th century paintings, from the Pre-Raphaelites to the Surrealists! I have completed work experience in a library, held a stable job for over three years, and am currently studying at my dream university for my BA. My ambition for education will hopefully take me further to achieve higher honours. In addition to my love for art and architecture, I am very interested in mythology, non-western religions, and am an avid writer and poet independently. I like to sum up my creative vision and writing style as unique; for my A Level English Literature coursework essay I chose to compare Shakespeare's 'King Lear' to George Bernard Shaw's 'Pygmalion' on the themes of power, possession and the god complex, a choice that drew me apart from my classmates. I also enjoy embarking on writing projects in my own time, currently having written independent essays on dystopian psychology, the 'Singing Heroine's' of the mid-20th century, Dirk Bouts' 'Christ Crowned with Thorns,' a modern play adaptation of 'Hamlet,' as well as an original film screenplay and a conceived series of episodes based on the life of my favourite artist, Gluck. I have competed in a public speaking competition which involved making a presentation and giving a lecture on Rembrandt's painting 'Anna and the blind Tobit,' and won the Kenneth Clark Travel Award in which I was given a money grant in order to travel to the National Gallery to see Leonardo da Vinci's London version of the 'Virgin of the Rocks.' I am always happy to help others, can both lead and be a teamplayer, and am genuinely passionate about the work I do, especially when it helps others. My main inspirations are Virginia Woolf, Emily Brontë, Gluck, Shaw, Sandra Oh and Hans Zatzka (his paintings are some of my favourites). I've even won a few singing competitions!
