I am currently an undergraduate student at DePaul University, expecting to graduate in 2025. I am studying political science with an emphasis in international politics as well as french language. I am employed at Jewel-Osco, a local chain of grocery stores in the Chicagoland area. In my current role I aid customers in purchasing and locating the items that best suit their needs as well as solving problems that may come up for customers in the guest service sector of the store. I enjoy my role at Jewel-Osco but I am in school and working towards one day working in politics. I have a great passion for the field because I believe through politics I can create real, lasting change in the world. I recently had the chance to have an immersive internship in the field as an aid to Michael Healy-Rae, a member of the Irish Parliament. Not only did I learn the ins and outs of political work but my interest in the subject grew. I am hopeful for my future in politics in various fashions, from working on a campaign of a candidate I am passionate about to assisting a member of the House of Representatives draft legislation.
While as an intern for State Senator Rachel Ventura I answered and directed high-volume calls, providing timely and courteous assistance to constituents. Additionally, I coordinated constituent services by tracking inquiries, escalating cases appropriately, and ensuring follow-up through interdepartmental collaboration. My favorite part of the this role was the work I completed with incarcerated individuals and their families, facilitating access to resources and addressing concerns with discretion and empathy.
