Rotation 3: Strategic Finance - Group Recovery and Resolution - Valuations Perform Valuations of business lines across all legal entities using Net Asset Value, Discounted Cash Flow, and Insolvency models under extreme stress scenarios, to inform the Group Recovery and Resolution Planning work-streams. Rotation 2: Private Bank - Finance Business Partner (International Banking) Supported the International Banking business heads with financial insights to assist in business management, review and commercial strategy. Rotation 1: Treasury - Capital and Leverage Management Focused on the reporting and forecasting of key drivers that shape Group capital strategy, preparing materials for Group Treasurer & Finance Director.
Worked within the Counterparty Risk Trading (CRT) team as part of the wider Cross Markets business area, aiding in the pricing and management of the banks derivative trade population. Applied and developed technical skills practiced on my Masters degree by completing a project which reviewed the banks large range of derivative positions and their pricing using Alteryx software. Also undertook a team research project on bringing a positive mindset to life for all colleagues across the bank; utilising networking, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Worked within the Business Management team, supporting various sectors of the bank on how to function most effectively in areas such as; cost and budgeting, and the application of technology. Received the highest praise of “outstanding” on my end of internship review and further developed analytical, networking, and adaptability skills.
Spent 11 weeks training and working at a top ranked summer camp in Maryland, USA; looking after a group of 12 campers of age 12-15 around the clock for 1-2 weeks at a time and leading various sports sessions for large groups of children. Developed strong communication, leadership, and listening skills and received a number of excellent reviews from both the directors and the campers.
Spent ten weeks during the summer holidays working in The World’s Biggest Cadbury Shop at the Cadbury World visitor attraction. Organised shop displays, served customers, upsold products and handled cash, in a high pressure environment.
