The Director Technology Solutions, Clinical and Statistical Programming (C&SP) is a highly experienced Functional Area Leader with expert knowledge of Technology Solutions strategy, to support Research & Development projects to provide the tailored technical solutions. This position requires expert people leadership skills with the capability to effectively manage project across all Therapeutic Areas and IDAR/GD functions. This position requires ability to partner closely with stakeholders within IDAR and across key JRD functions to deliver on projects connected with the J&J Research & Development goals and priorities. This position is accountable for C&SP Technology Solutions strategy and delivery of assigned projects in accordance to company and departmental processes and procedures. In collaboration with departmental and cross functional leadership/key stakeholders, this position also contributes to process optimization and innovation, while ensuring appropriate cross functional alignment and engagement, when necessary. As a people and organizational leader, the Director Technology Solutions is accountable for the recruitment, performance management, talent development and resource management within data engineering sub-area to meet current and future business needs, contributing to the overall talent management and sourcing strategy for the department. As a member of the IDAR C&SP Leadership Team, this position provides input into overall departmental strategy and drives the development and continuous improvement of departmental policies, procedures, training and standards.
Statistics & Decisions Sciences (SDS) focuses on statistical and data evaluation needs for discovery, clinical trials, manufacturing, and safety sciences data. The Scientific Computing Operations (SCO) team within SDS excels in delivering value to the community and its partners through the use of computer technology. As a director, leading the Scientific Computing Operations (SCO) team, my primary responsibilities include identifying, establishing collaboration with, and supervision of external partners and their services at multiple locations. Strategic and technical leadership is required both internally and externally. This includes collaborations with statisticians, researchers, and information technology professionals. There is a large diversity of needs to serve, such as end-to-end management of software applications for statistical evaluation or for business processes, education in-classroom and e-learning, knowledge sharing, user interface navigation, software/application acquisition and training, and high-performance computing for intensive data evaluation, simulations, and statistical research. Just as important a responsibility and accountability are formal management of a global team of direct reports and contract partners.
In this position, I'm currently the business project lead for the newly custom build SCE (Statistical Computing Environment) within SP&A, IDAR, Janssen R&D. The Associate Director, Analytics Innovation Team Lead is an experience technical and people leader with strong project and people leadership skills accountable for developing technical and process solutions delivering increased productivity, quality, performance and innovation within the Statistical Programming and Analysis (SP&A) functional area. This position uses in-depth understanding of the Statistical Programming and Analysis function in combination with expert technical programming capability and process knowledge, to design, develop and deploy innovative software solutions and related processes designed to enable automation, efficiency and regulatory compliance to perform statistical analysis, data visualization and submission of clinical data to health authorities.
This role is that of a programming team leader (Programming Lead) who plans and provides oversight of statistical programming activities (e.g., development, verification and documentation) in support of clinical trial reporting and submissions of high complexity and/or scope, with minimal guidance; and/or that of a statistical programmer or team leader (Technical Lead), driving implementation of technical and/or process-related solutions for departmental benefit. This role may also take on responsibility of completing programming deliverables of significant complexity, ambiguity, impact and/or urgency to ensure timeliness and quality of project deliverables are achieved.
